Sleeping is good and that is why the body naturally makes it known when it is time for it. However, no matter how long one tries sleeping, it won't still be enough if there is a disorder. One of the disorders of sleeping is known as Apnea. Apnea is when there is a cessation of breathing during sleep. Because it is bad, sleep apnea relief has to be gotten.

Sleeping interruptedly is bad in the sense that it can cause a heart attack. The occurrence of heart attack is mainly as a result of increased cholesterol level in the blood vessels which can also result from breath cessation while sleeping. Sleeping also helps to prevent cancer by increasing the level of melatonin the body needs to stop the growth of tumors. So, when people stay awake more often, their melatonin is reduced because light impedes its production. Even if you have to work late shifts, endeavor to sleep well afterward.

It is a well-known fact that sleeping can reduce stress. On the other hand, not having enough will increase it as well as the stress hormones which will make falling asleep more difficult. Increased stress is bad because it can lead to high blood pressure, which can lead to some complex health problems if not taken care of as soon as possible.

As a student, you need to be aware that robbing yourself some hours in the night to read or work is not in your best interest. This is because your memory level tends to diminish with it and your level of attention too will not be normal when you go to class the following day. This is why you need to plan your day well and eliminate anything that will make you waste your time unnecessarily.

When you rest well at night, you will easily handle the next day's activities with ease no matter how tedious they may be to someone else. Your energy level will be high just as your rate of metabolism. This will make you easily fall asleep again when it is time to do so. As a matter of fact, sleep disorders are more common among those who have not committed some hours of the night for resting.

It is possible to get fat if you do not sleep well. Research shows that children and adults who fail to sleep well increase their chances of becoming obese by 89% and 55% respectively. Part of the reasons for this is that it results in hormone imbalance which regulates appetite. Besides, not sleeping well reduces the enthusiasm for exercising.

Sleep makes it easier for the body to ward off harmful pathogens by building its immune system. As it does this, it makes the person likelier to live longer than his counterpart who rarely has the time for it. Working in the day predisposes one to ultraviolet light and stress but you need not to worry about these if you have a good sleeping habit.
