Raw Plant Foods Are Good For You

Talking about diets. When it comes to a raw food diet, people often wonder what it is exactly. Generally, it's about consuming foods without exposing them to the temperature over 46 degrees Celsius. Thanks to that, enzymes within, for example, remain active, and this means your organism will greatly benefit if you take this type of food regularly, even if you aren't interested in full raw vegan diet.

Here are some facts. The fact is that raw plant foods are full of valuable substances, minerals, vitamins and other things your organism needs. Some compounds will survive cooking, but some won't. When it comes to, for example, tomatoes, they even get more valuable after cooking, at least some compounds, while some get destroyed. But, most good substances in other types of veggies will at least be damaged by exposure to high temperatures.

Organic vegetables are especially beneficial. These plants are still alive, so to say, and bring life to your organism. Not to mention that they are so much tastier. Another great thing is that you can mostly eat as much as you want, without worrying about calories. Staying slim and eating as much as you want really sounds great.

On the other hand, it may sometimes be more complicated than you think. All restrictive regimes are related to some strict rules. In this case, you might not get enough important minerals and vitamins, if you don't balance your diet appropriately. Calcium, zinc, vitamin D and vitamin B12, and some other substances or elements may be found in some veggies, but not in the adequate amount.

Some types of food are hard to digest in their raw state. But, there are some solutions for this problem, for example, light steaming. On the other hand, you can always make a nice green juice in your blender, and combine those veggies with fruits or nuts, or both, and enjoy in those vegetables anyway, without having problems with your digestion.

Although this is generally unprocessed food, you can still take different fermented veggies, for example, sauerkraut, or even non-pasteurized yogurt, in case you don't mind taking dairy products every once in a while. It contains valuable good bacteria and works great for your digestion. On the other hand, there are also several veggie milk substitutes that might be good for you, as long as they are not pasteurized.

There is another thing to mention here. Cooking will destroy some good, but also some bad bacteria. When eating raw, you have to be more careful about some things. As it was mentioned before, cooking makes some types of, for example, grains, more digestible. But, you will get healthier, skinnier and more beautiful if you choose raw. And, you can eat as much as you want.

In any case, when you decide to go raw, familiarize yourself with food's ingredients first. Balance your diet properly, making sure that you get enough vitamins and minerals, fiber and other substances your organism needs on daily basis. Avoid anything that is processed, especially exposed to the heat, and choose organic whenever you can, your body will appreciate this. Eat, lose weight and enjoy being healthy and beautiful.
